The reason that the framers recognized that all men are created by God is the irrationality of self creation. Scientific discoveries only confirm what the bible has said all along.... "In the beginning, God created..."

R.C. Sproul is providentially dealing with this issue today.

"Moral egalitarianism is founded on the assumption that humans have value and that value stems from their status as creatures of God who are specially made in the image of God"

Neither the DOI nor the Constitution speaks one whit about being made in the image of God. The Constitution has nothing to say about God because secular justice must utilize rational law and not irrational superstition. The DOI rebels against religion and monarchy by denying the Church and King philosophy and their parental practice of inequality between people.

"Created equal" is not about being made in the "image of God".--LOL! That is your Christian rose colored glasses. If the religious monarchy and populace of England had believed in equality, this declaration would have been without any sense or purpose! Instead it was to oppose the inequality of Church and King; it was to assert that all are BORN free of any inferiority--and that justice is not a religious affair, but a secular matter.

There is NOTHING in religious tradition to suggest that egalitarianism is a justice principle of God. All tribes have had their own Gods and they have all been entirely prejudiced against other tribes. Did Yahweh believe in egalitarianism? Don't be ridiculous. Only once did He murder all people equally (a rather crude concept of justice), and He made no distinction between innocence and guilt, babies or adults, competency or insanity. If you think the United States intended to emulate this form of "justice" because they believed it epitomised egalitarian moral principles then you have your head under a rock.
