Why is "any consistent atheism" required to satisfy your exquisitely tuned requirement for meaning? Like most of science, evolution just is. People can construct grand philosophical edifices around it, or not. Back to the beginning : Any consistent atheism will acknowledge that there is no objective system of value; that there is no metaphysical knowledge, only pragmatic systems; and that evolution is a dead end. Leaving aside the other parts, you seem to have the definitive requirement that "any consistent atheism" has to be consistent with your personal views on evolution. This seems odd.
