Yes, definitely they are astute experienced pros ... the Alamos folks too, they had a sticky issue with an ejido, worked through it, that took time but they got it done eventually ... it's always going to be easier to make a mine where there isn't anybody living, this is true everywhere Politics is the same no matter where you go ... try to get an Official Community Plan amended in the slightest manner in a BC regional district, even when local people support the change and the board reps are onside, you're looking at years of struggle and there's a good chance you won't get it through .... we happened to have, in the same year, fairly similar issues with an OCP in BC and with a chiapaneco ejido, the latter was much easier even though my brilliant brother-in-law agent lost his temper and forgot every scrap of diplomacy we'd pounded into his head I just meant to point out that there is much diversity within estados, within municipios even .... Ixhuacán is very near the highway between Villahermosa and Tuxtla, so i'd expect locals to have an outlook more world-connected than if they were further back in the sierra .... that said, they'll be out to make the best deal they can for themselves, also there will be all sorts of outsiders descending on the place with their various agendas [lrr.to being one of these, of course] ... all in all, not to worry, imho ... i don't hold any lrr, can't bring myself to chase anything in tax-loss season, prefer the quiet ones .... and yes, i know you do understand all the above .... salut
