Hello Ray, good to hear from you..been quietly following the thread, not much to add these days. I've been really busy with work, just hasn't let up this year, the building boom, and high home turnover around here has kept me going strong..either they are building $500k plus new vacation homes or buying existing and renovating..money is flowing<g>..Even sickly American Ski corp aesk.ob was able to do some refinancing..a sure sign of the top!! I keep hearing it, "it's different this time" <lol!> I can remember the late 80's ,early 90's when the banks ended up owning a lot of vacation properties.values around here are hugely inflated, many doubling in the last 2 years, incredible..but as soon as the values correct to a level that is lower than the mortgage, watch out below.

To be honest, I haven't been following the markets as close as I should, and have been asleep at the wheel for much of the past couple of months run. I've missed most the downside this year, but have missed much of the nearterm upside as well. I guess they are right, when timing you have to be right twice <lol>..oh well, I'm ahead on the year so won't bitch<g>

Been building, little at a time a USPIX position through this past week, the markets are ignoring the data('cept oil), and money managers are pumping..I've already heard the tv commentators talking the january effect and the sloshing cash..I think a lot of the cash will go to europe,$40/brl oil, and mortgage payments..but I've been stuck in a bearish mode I can't seem to shake, so could certainly be wrong!!errrr<g> I'm thinking it's a good play for the up comming week, we'll see.
Luckily I can trade in and out of the short fund, because it's gotten crushed recently, breaking a double bottom and sinking..but getting oversold and possibly putting in a bottom, imo

Not sure on the osx, dayrates have cranked up a lot, yet so have some of the stock prices, many have tacked on 30% or more over the last few months. They ought to be making cash though. Winter drilling in Canada should be kicking in for some land drillers, eh? <G>...Been really warm here in VT. so far this Winter, but supposed to cool down midweek. I've been surprised at heating oil builds-or lack of, if it had been colder this past month, the shit would have hit the fan, imo as they say..of course, as a result I've had to pay up to $2.37/gal for diesel, which sucks, especially when this time of the year you get "winter blend" and lower mileage...the studded snowtires and running in 4wd don't help much either <g>
Don't know if I answered your question or not<lol>,,sorry, cranky this morning..have to meet a client this morning at 8, I better shape up<vbg>
