There is nothing about Christmas in Jingle Bells.

I did note that.

However they do relate to the Christmas holiday.

I think that the program you described is exactly as it should be. It acknowledges and lightly celebrates all the holidays but does not teach or favor any religion. I realize, of course, that many would disagree with my perspective.

And I think that Bloomberg calling the Christmas tree a holiday tree is just dumb. As is ignoring the holidays in the Seattle schools, if that's really what they do.

let's be totally pc and unoffensive in the public schools and government

we can begin with Labor Day - very unpc - it began with unions and if you're anti-union it's offensive - after all I believe I read only 15% of the work force is now union - of course many stores and businesses are open anyway on Labor Day, hence the entire holiday is pointless - so it's out -say goodbye to your 3 day week-end and get back to work

next is Halloween - pagan origins, All Hallows' Eve, very offense to christians - no party at school, no costumes and for certain no jack-o-lanterns - I think the candy is a safe bet, so maybe we can just rename it Candy Day

then Thanksgiving - uh uh, might offend the vegetarian group here - killing of turkeys and actually celebrating the day you eat them - plus it is a national holiday day set aside for thanksgiving and prayer, can't celebrate a day with any prayer involved - it might work if prayer is forbidden and a law is passed to make it a felony to eat turkey - we could still have the parade with a huge turkey float and just rename the day National Turkey Honor Day - [we won't even go into how barbaric it is to celebrate our invasion of north america, displacing all the indians and stealing their lands]

ST. Nicks should never even be spoken of for obvious reason - people who like that night can do it on the sly while swearing their children to secrecy

Christmas - the "Holiday Zero" so to speak, for from it all this holiday pc stuff spread - the mother of all pc rule breakers - we have Jesus right smack dab in the middle of this celebration and we all know how offense believing in him is to some people - that alone pretty much negates the entire holiday and all the trimmings - no gifts, no trees, no singing [well maybe some rock would be ok, but nothing classical], no day off to celebrate jesus' birth [we all know he wasn't even born on that day] - it has been suggested it be called Winter Solstice Celebration, but of course those of us who actually live in real winter climates know it nothing to celebrate and we'd be offended

St Valentine's Day - BZZZZZ! the name of the day alone eliminates it - and after all how could we be insensitive enough to celebrate on a day that 7 gangsters were murdered? - it could possibly be changed into a day of mourning - and not just for those 8 guys, we could mourn everyone who has been murdered - I'm not sure how the 'love' aspect could fit into this, so that would have to go -possibly rename it to 'Mourn The Murdered Day'? [for sure no candy then on this day, maybe fasting?]

St. Patrick's Day - another damn saint! [they're all over the place!] - this one is easy to ditch - we can all drink any time, don't need a holiday to remind us

Good Friday - every Friday should be good, no need to just say one is good - so no more getting off of work early for that 2 1/2 day week-end

oh boy, Easter - where to start? religious [we know how painful and unfair it is to the non-religious to watch, even be aware, that christians go though this ritual] - it's not even up for debate, poof, it's gone - no eggs, not egg hunts, no bunnies, no ham, no new easter bonnets or clothes - no candy, no baskets and certainly no easter vacation - Florida's economy will tank, but hell, they can adjust - they adjusted on not knowing how to use a voting machine

mayday - very pagan origins

Fourth Of July - how pc is it for us to celebrate our freedom and great country while the rest of the world watches? think about 3rd world countries? how do they feel when we rejoice in the freedom and success we've gained? how about the countries that hate us? it's just giving them more reason to hate us - and our fellow Americans who dislike our country, who are unhappy with America, who think we're a greedy insensitive nation - think about how they feel watching the rest of us go to parades, wave flags, eat hot dogs and celebrate - to show them all how bad we feel about having won our freedom and done well, to show them how sensitive we are, the Fourth should be dropped, to be fair - I'll presonally miss the fireworks though

maybe holidays should flat out be banned - I mean just look at the origin of the word - Etymology: Middle English, from Old English hAligdæg, from hAlig holy + dæg day - OMG, Holy Day!! what's the government and English teachers trying to pull here?!?

those type of days at the very least be renamed 'celebrationdays'

that is if there's anything left to celebrate
