Hi Kumar, I'm not quite sure where this goes:

A broad statement like "X is characterized as Y" does not wash.

My comment was an overall description of certain kind of political development. Sometimes it gets characterized as religious movement as has happened with parts of Islam right now. But the Mullahs running the show in Iran, or bin Laden, or the extremist preachers in Saudi Arabia and their doppelgangers elsewhere, are not putting forth a religious agenda - it's political and it's fascist.

It's done well - financed by Saudi and Iranian oil money which has allowed them to steal Mosques, and sometimes school systems, all over the world to promote their political message and provide bases for their terrorism.

Be clear about me: I did not and do not say all members of whatever religion are fascist.

if one is willing to engage in a discussion on muslims/jews/christian/hindu/etc on a personal experience basis, I for one am willing to contribute.

Most folk everywhere, whatever their religion or lack of one, are reasonable, middle of the road folk most of the time. Secular and religious extremists try to lure them off the road, and down the back alley where they can mug them.

It has to be broad statements. When you get into esoteric details and you discuss things logically, you are left with a tiny audience of the converted. If you get anywhere at all with that discussion, you are left with perhaps some broad statements that have any validity.

In other words - cut the cr@#!p and get to the point.
