freedom of religion is the same thing as freedom FROM religion. Freedom from religion is a much more basic right from which a freedom of a chosen religion is but a subset. TP

Christians are working overtime to ensure that they are not discriminated against by the liberal left who believe freedom of religion is the same thing as freedom FROM religion. LOL. Dang, you all are too slow. It is the same thing. Freedom of religion means you can be free of religion if you so choose. A Christian's example of discrimination is not being allowed to pray in the classroom or in the supermarket or in the middle of the freeway.......as if that's a God given right. Of course, a devout Christian has no problem killing an abortion doctor, or discriminating against people of different races or religions. If you want to be a devout Christian, go for it but leave the rest of us Christians out of it. You all tend to be major hypocrites. On the other hand, the homosexual minority is shoving their sexuality in our faces every day. I can't turn on the T.V. without watching some politically correct show about to mommies or two daddies living together raising a child. Oh my God! What shows are those? We need to burn the producers at the stake. Everyone knows two gays can't raise a child, and if they do, those children turn out gay. I bet that scares the bejezus out of you, doesn't it mindmelt? I can't open the newspaper without hearing how the Pentagon is no longer allowed to sponsor its relationship with the Boy Scouts, for goodness sakes! Shocking, just shocking! The boy scouts? How will we ever recruit enough people to enlist if the Pentagon's ties with the boy scouts are broken? The liberal left got a rude wake up call when the Christian majority decided enough was enough and voted for Bush. Live with it Tejek...or you can always move to the Middle East where you can consort with those head-sawing monsters whom you defend so vigorously. Who said I wanted to live in the ME? I like where I live. But I have to warn you. If you think we are religious, then you won't like the Muslim lifestyle much better. Who said I wanted to live the Muslim lifestyle? Plus, they take a very dim view of gay people too. Who said I was gay? You're the one doing the cooking all the time. How do we know your 'wife' isn't really your 'husband'. Do you pull your assumptions about people right out of your butt......or do you 'meld' them into being? Sorry, but it looks like there isn't anywhere the liberal left are welcome anymore, except maybe in France. Ignorance must be bliss! Most of the West is liberal with the notable exception of the US. Its why we are alienated from many of our former allies. They can't understand why we've become so reactionary. We should send you over to explain.

Would that include the intensified attempts at getting alternative "science" to evolution taught in public schools, such as we are seeing these days?

Um, there are a lot of liberals that are Christians. They simply believe strongly in the right of freedom of other people's rights as well as other people's religions - they aren't control freaks trying to thrust their "God" down other people's throats.
