Hi Rich, Yup last earnings announcement A played down expectations. This is in line with most semi's / capital equipment makers. I think we'll see individual stocks/stories of market share gains do much better than the average sectors stock. A ,which is a recent IPO (only several years old - but much older by experience) should be one of the early success stories. I was allocated some A when they originally were an IPO. A is the only IPO I've ever wanted/bought. I can't believe an investor can buy (what I viewed as the best of HP) 5-7 bucks below the original IPO. This is a good story and I believe accumulators of this stock will be handsomely rewarded in the long term buy and hold strategy. With regards to Monday's "Analyst Day" - these are optional and planned.Most often an analyst presentaion is more a warm and fuzzy "FEEL GOOD" presentation. Quarterly earnings are often conservative and guide downward - to prevent the possibility of missing. Analyst Day will have a more positive tone. I think the downward guidance was a gift - which enabled an initial position and excellent value. A has diversity and it looks like the communications sector is doing very well. I've been surprised that telecom has come back so well and so soon. If you asked me 2 years ago if telecom would recover before semi equipment - I'd have said NO WAY Telco is dead.GG Shows how wrong a man can be. Now with Telecom doing so well - it teases me to think that communication is what really got the .com boom going.Telecom on top of the internet PC cycle is what fueled the 98 - 00 cycle top. To see this sector doing better will ultimately be linked to the upgrading of the SCE sector. A, with its diversity,may well be a leader. Just some wishful thinking on the day before. Thanks for the good post and analyst coverage. This thread needs some more contributions on what I believe is an exciting and undercovered story. Bob
