Deer are a real problem in my area and some people cruise my road looking for fresh kills to haul home. If no one picks a deer up in 12 hours the township picks up the carcass and gives it to coyote hunters for bait.

What does one do when an animal is hit on the road and injured so severely that one knows it will die... I have been warned never to approach an injured dog as it might bite you out of the fear of the event.

Someone hit a crane here in FL. a week ago. The mate stood over its body on the road and bayed like a crying infant. A motorist stopped and removed the body to the side of the road and the mate still stood and bayed... Very sad.

What does one do within guidelines of the law when a deer is hit and injured ?
