TP, Freedom from religion is a much more basic right from which a freedom of a chosen religion is but a subset.

China is very free FROM religion. Of course, there isn't much freedom OF religion there.

The Chinese have few freedoms. Its about as poor a comparison as you could make.

At least China doesn't have control freaks forcing the bibble onto children.

But I definitely concur they should allow people to practise whatever religion they want, but they are wise in realizing that poverty and religious control freaks can be a potent combination (even though most religious folks aren't control freaks, it just takes one or two to cause damage.)

Maybe I should refer to compulsary belief systems, but it doesn't have the same ring to it.
