Laz, you sound rather sensible in that post.

I do think that if Canada can use their purchasing power to put the squeeze on the pharmaceutical companies, the the U.S. sure as hell could do the same thing. WHY is it that Bush believes in capitalism so much, yet he won't let the U.S. government use its own demand power to get lower drug prices.

It's because capitalism comes to a halt when it meets campaign contributors.
