You might be a redneck if. . .

it never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under
God. . ."

you've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public
places.

you still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival."

you bow your head when someone prays.

you stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National
Anthem.

you treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have.

you've never burned an American flag.

you know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is
listening.

you respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.

you'd give your last dollar to a friend.

We have enjoyed the redneck jokes for years. It's time to take a reflective
look at the core beliefs of a culture that values home, family, country and
God. If I had to stand before a dozen terrorists who threaten my life, I'd
choose a half dozen or so rednecks to back me up. Tire irons, squirrel guns
and grit -- that's what rednecks are made of. I hope I am one of them.

Granny has now put me on ignore as well as banning me. This was after I pointed out the hypocrisy of banning all those she has but not that hatemonger Evil Vermin and providing a few posts to prove the point.

then telling her I write my posts, not her, and I would be d&&&ed if I would agree to her restrictions.

My reply to her is below. She is in quotes.

"The only thing I can think where our views are even remotely in the same universe is when he writes about Zionism."
Exactly what IS your plan for those 3 million Jews in Isael? They aren't going to walk into the Red Sea quietly and drown, you know.

"The real problem is YOUR narrow-mindedness, your inability to conceive of the possibility that intelligent people could actually disagree with you, your inability to cope with the notion that you just might be wrong."

It is acceptable at Feelies to criticize someone's opinion, their post, their attitudes, etc., but you need to do that without attacking them personally. Intelligent people have been disagreeing with me forever (in fact, I find it interesting when they do) and I could be wrong about a lot of things (probably not this one, though, because it's based on Bush biographical materials). Whatever you are saying, you need to do it without saying things like "the real problem is YOUR narrowmindedness . . ." You definitely do not have to post here if I upset you that much.

I write my posts, NOT you. When you are being an a$$ (as you are here), I am going to tell you you are being an a$$. Likely in those words. This isn't your granny's SI. Times have changed. You don't like it, find another site. Or start one. I am doing quite well without Feelies, thank you. Don't hold your breath, it will be a long, long time before I agree to your restrictions.

In reply, I felt it only fair that I also put her on ignore.
