Met a guy at a holiday party who works for a start-up biotech in Cambridge, MA. (The start-up is involved with creating a better mouse cancer model). He remarked that Novartis in Cambridge is sucking up all the talent because they are offering higher salaries than the small companies. Guess it's the free market system in action, but I suspect we'd all be better off in the long-term if Novartis just partnered with the small start-ups instead of stealing their talent. Peter
