We are talking here about perceptions -- which are subjective by definition. I can give you an example of what I am talking about. During the campaign, there were Kerry supporters on the GWB thread who would post the tally on each occasion of new additions to the military death roll, as in "Two Marines killed by roadside bomb, total dead now 865." To you, perhaps that is "reporting." To me, when taken in context, it is "cheering."
