..Chapter Five: The New Ordering Principle
Thomas Barnett

The Missing Section Entitled: "New Rules for a New Crisis">>>>

Wow, a most impressive discourse. Looking at events without the politics or prejudices involved, as to who did what to whom.
No question that the US is horizontally responsive, considering the 911 shock is still oscillating.
We are bound with one common language, one major source of news ( the MSM) hahaha, and now connected person to person via the WEB, and freedom of expression second to none.

Somebody says "take the Christ out of Christmas" and the shock waves propagate to the farthest reaches of the universe.

But I would not expect the vertical part of our system to participate willingly in the dialog. The Supreme Court has to hate lawyers who bring up such subjects, like Christmas and the public display of the Constitution.

Anyway, it provides great hope that such a complex subject as national interactions can be looked at in such a way that results of an proposed event may be estimated in advance.

A long way from perfect, but far better than not studying the subject.

I think one turning point will be when Saddam is tried and sentence to hang in the town square. Going to be shocker for the Baath party - end of the line.
