OmniVision Technologies Cooperating With Informal SEC Probe Into Revenue Recognition Errors

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) -- OmniVision Technologies Inc., a maker of image sensing devices, said Monday that it is cooperating with the Securities and Exchange Commission's informal inquiry into revenue recognition errors made by the company.
On June 9, OmniVision said it was considering restating financial results for certain prior periods and rescheduled the release of its fourth-quarter and fiscal year results, in order to correct the timing of revenue recognition for certain sales.

Since the restatement, OmniVision said it has put in place various internal-control policies and procedures to prevent similar financial errors in the future. An independent investigation of the company's practices found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Shares of OmniVision were down 1.2 percent, or 21 cents, at $17.88 in premarket activity on the Nasdaq National Market.

Some months ago in an public interview or quarterly conference call Micron announced they are now shipping product to Nokia. Don't have that on hand right now and I am reluctant to get more precise here without the data on hand. Most of this was reported on this thread at the time though.
From the context it was fairly obvious that MU thus filled a void at Nokia, which had slipped badly and lost market share when under estimating the traction of camera phones as whole.
Thus matching the limited capacity ramp-up of their long term exclusive CMOS sensor vendor ST I would add...

Can somebody else add facts here?
