Ultimate Electronics shares halved on bankruptcy worry (ULTE) By Tomi Kilgore
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Shares of Ultimate Electronics (ULTE) tumbled 58 percent to $1.08 in Instinet pre-open trading after the company expressed doubt about its ability to stay in business. The consumer electronics company said it would likely violate one or more of its financial covenants given the continued deterioration sales trends, and said its creditors may not grant requests for waivers. The company also said its lenders have requested addition reserves against available credit. As a result, the company said it was considering a reorganization of its business, and has therefore requested an extension to file its quarterly report.
