Tim,
Are the folks who oppose the war and voted against the 87 billion dollars still complaining about the armor? Those are the same folks who complain about poor national homeland security but dont want to admit that middle easterners need to be profiled in order to protect our country better. Those are the same folks who always wanted to emasculate the CIA and then complain about their work product but then go on to heap praise on CIA agents who write anti-iraq policy books.
And for the other side, having said the above doesnt make the iraq war smart in its execution to date. I know all about the arguments about guerilla war and hearts and minds but it just seems to me that if we are not willing to raise the temperature this daily drip drip of casualties both american and iraqis will do us in. There must be a way to raise the costs for the terrorists and their supporters but if not, staying the course aint going to work. Mike
