You appear to be of two minds on the matter of old vs. new. I share your confusion. :)

As far as energy is concerned, your bet must be on the trogolodytes as far as the American market is concerned. I watched a one hour+ presentation by the head of the EIA, the federal Energy Information Agency on C-SPAN that was filmed last Thursday. The big news is the development of LNG facilities. The other long term notion is an Alaskan gas pipeline.

Other than that, all the exciting developments in solar or wind power were dealt with in a totally dismissive fashion.

We're stuck with looking to the past in America to traditional energy sources.
