The other outfit that caught my eye was Queenstake (QRL and now QEE in the US). Their Jerritt Canyon properties are quite extensive and further exploration keeps turning up more gold. Went to the talk and the booth. Impressed that the geos had left Anglo to return to Jerritt Canyon via QRL so that they could carry on explor. with a different (more progressive?) management.

Lots of smaller ore bodies being discovered after following up on anomalous hits that were ignored in the past. I feel the reserve picture will improve in short order. Would appreciate comments from financial analysis types who are better on the fin. statement stuff than I am.

hank,

If there is a ban on open pit mining in this province that is a big concern.

No ban as far as I know, its all on a case-by-case basis. In any event this will be mined open pit.

Geo stressed they were no where’s near the mountains and the ski hills where the enviro-rads were.

Your quite correct, as well as many other structural advantages Navidad has. The region has no jobs. The country needs the foreign currency. To turn down this project in this type of geo-political-environmental-economic-environment would be a first in the world.

I agree with Claude and others who have recommended owning both IMA and AQI to cover that problem/possibility.

I think Claude's objectivity is suspect. He was pushing Calcatreau over Navidad, and he is not a stupid man, just biased in my opinion. The "others" you speak of are meaningless. There isn't a stock out their that someone isn't touting so others means nothing.

hank, "If there is a ban on open pit mining in this province that is a big concern."

No matter how often I post the law, there are those who read it and refuse to acknowlege it, and most "analysts" now recommending the stock don't mention it, nor even respond to queries about why they avoid doing so. Try it yourself after you verify the following:

http://www.legischubut.gov.ar/ultimas_leyes_promulgadas.htm

L E Y Nº 5.001 .

Summary: The law calls for an open-pit mining ban and a ban on the use of cyanide over the entire province, subject to a special study that may recommend certain geographic areas for exemption. For further comment and my personal analysis, re read this...

Oh, and in case one needs a lesson from what the anti-mining movement did to Manhattan Minerals in Peru, take a look at this...
