No the middle class is about to be squeezed by Bully because Easy is going to do only one more hike. This will allow Bully to really go crazy with his house ATM card and "luxury" consumption binge, driving up costs and spiking prices throughout the economy. On top of it the major CBs (including the ECB) are going to do phony interventions on the USD (by printing even money out of thin air). In fact I think it's already been happening. The inflationary onslaught from this totally incorrect monetary policy on top of prior egregious easy money, will work it's Bust damage by allowing Bully to completely run amok (as if he hasn't already). This inflationary Boom will really be the death knell to the middle and lower classes in 2005. At the same time China will Train Wreck from the next metal and energy price spike. We are down to 88,684 MT of copper today in LME and Comex. The funds are short energy, certainly an interesting proposition.
