After that explanation, you convinced me. In fact, I once thought of studying forestry in Montana, but opted to wait for 30+ years before going, and then only to visit Glacier NP and points around Flathead Lake. Decided I liked a warmer, dryer climate, so now I get my "back to the earth" experience as a docent/steward for a wilderness preserve in Arizona.
