I consider this 25 year crusade to separate god and government nothing less than a revolution, overturning the basic theory of our state. My "standard of value" is myself. Your "standard of value" is "God." We both arrive from our POV to the concept that the Government's power is delegated. I say that we have all delegated it, you say that "God" has delegated it. Governments down through the ages have loved to say that they were doing things in "God's name." It is easier for them to get away with this when your "standard of value" is used. I answer that premise by saying, "wait a minute, chum, you are doing this in my name!" We will never agree on our underlying premises, but it is interesting to see how we get to a similar conclusion.
