I am not going to discuss the Dithers banning anymore after this post--he cannot defend himself and it is a violation of his privacy to go on and on about it. If you want to talk about it, why don't you write him a PM instead. I did take a paragraph he wrote and, following the same exact structure, switched it to an attack on right-wing posters at SI. I think any reasonable person would see how inflammatory it is, and I know I would get a whole bunch of posts from you guys saying how horrible, how could I possibly say that, that is a personal attack on all conservatives at SI, take it back, etc.:

"What I am seeing now is the emboldening of the conservative right to take the gloves off and say what they really feel, which is that the women, children and elderly in Iraq are just expendable collateral damage unworthy of our concern. We see it here on SI in the not-so-subtle posts that cheer when we bomb them and gloat over new additions to the death toll for Iraqi babies.

I think it is a sickening trend."
