"Along the way if there are wars and depression I am sure this country will become more family oriented and the concept of Joint Family will be born thereby negating the neccassity of that many more new homes<vbg/ng>" Joint Family ownership of homes is no joke- that is what it takes to afford a house these days. The house on the corner across the street from me is home to 3 families (their cars take up the whole street!). My brother in law and his wife rents from my sister in law and her family so they could afford the monthlies.
