I'd have to think it through..but Buchanan's plan makes a certain amount of sense....I don't think the insurgency is as nationalist as it is baathists and terrorists looking to give the US a black eye....it certainly undemines the reason for killing all the innocent Iraqis the insurgents have been killing....

I disagree with a lot of Pat's ideas, but on Iraq and Osama I agree. BTW, what do you think of his views on Osama? He argues that we should take Osama's complaints about the west at face value rather than claim he's just an Islamic wacko that hates America because bla bla and bla..

Pat understands the emotional aspects of having a solution forced on you. I liked the analogy of 1830 & slavery in the USA. A current one might be allowing gay marriage in the USA. Some people would think this a step forward, others would resist it tooth and nail. Can you imagine the French taking us over to correct this "injustice"? We have to work such things out internally, and the Iraqis need to work a lot of democracy issues out internally as well.
