Yes that may well happen especially with a group of patients that are relatively helpless when it comes to doing their own research on treatment alternatives.

Not talking all doctors of course - there are always a few noble souls out there that put their patients' interest first

I continually watch my Dr. of 15 years. If I would let him I would have a lung x-ray, and colonoscopy, and stress echo, every year. If he can add this to the annual physical, his charges are a 9x multiple of the in straight in office physical charge. As a non smoker I force the lung xray and colonoscopy to every 5 years and the stress echo every other year. To balance this I get a full blood screen at least twice a year.
