There is a reason why most of the turmoil is confined to the Sunni triangle. We enjoy a reasonable level of support in the majority of the country, which is why elections are proceeding. And that is because we freed the majority of the country from a brutal dictatorship, and are offering them a chance to avoid civil war in determining the future of their country. It is a very different situation from the one hypothesized by Buchanan.
