For all practical purposes your stock is gone. Consider it sold already. Whether you want to now re-invest in the stock by rolling-over the option is a separate and new investment decision.

Typically you only get a fill in between the spread when the stock moves against you (my experience anyhow). The options market makers are bandits. All of them.
