You arent wrong. "They" should have the govt they want and most iraqis dont want taliban or baath rule. By plugging in the 1300 number you open yourself up to the charge that you would be willing to influence outcomes if the number was 100 instead of 1300. If a peaceful outcome miraculously came about post election, I would consider the sacrifice worthwhile. What pisses me off most about the casualties are those that occurred because of our flubbed policies but even there flubbing has been a part of all wars so it was to be expected. mike
PS I think we had a handful of casualties in kosovo. Was that an ok policy for you? What if there were hundreds of casualties there as was expected? Would you then have been against it?
