Only a guy would be proud of the fact that he doesn't waste money on $6 lattes and $12 lunches only to blow an entire year's after tax wages on a car....but at least we now know what is important to you. -g-

Our finances work like a machine...and it works well for us.
I see more value in driving a nice car and the safest SUV on the market (for my family) than spending money on overpriced drinks and food during the day. I feel good when driving a nice car...and I wouldn't feel comfortable driving anything else. My comfort is very important to me and my well-being.

My point to you was if your friend is single and lives in "poverty" in NYC on $65k....that's her problem and she's the only one to blame.
