when I looked that up on Wikipedia, it said that there was a new, new theory that crude was created by nuclear processes in the mantle ... couldn't find the article, though. Last professional society meetin I went to -- a fellow was discussing the "Transition to the Hydrogen Economy." I almost stopped him and asked, "Don't we already have a hydrogen economy?? Nat Gas and petroleum." This hydrogen economy hype is like that dumb Kevin Kostner movie -- build all the machines for hydrogen and then somehow, magically -- another source of hydrogen is going to show up.
