"health care"

oops
that's not the flu, and that's not what I was talking about. Killer flus are somewhat different from heart attacks, diabetes, stroke, trauma...

Surely you know that?

No false dilemma- there's a limited supply of money, even if it's funny debt money- and the billions being spent in Iraq are clearly not being spent here on flu research, and beefing up the CDC (and not just a few million for bioterrorism- which is much less likely to whack our population, and whack it hard, than a killer flu is.) We have historical proof of what a killer flu can do- and it's worth planning for, and it's a lot bigger, and nastier, and more deadly, than any terrorist attack, or even any war.

30-40 million worldwide

Gee, here is a cryptic message from R.D. Buschman to Ionesco. Just guessing, but it might not be a love note.

Does anyone know what this means?

Buschman? You cannot use abbreviations unless absolutely everyone knows what they mean, because they could be insults or other incivilities. Please tell us all what it says or stop using it.
