Now- what should we be doing? Fast tracked research- and lots more money thrown to chum the waters for research in this area. We need to work harder on containment. What about getting the post office ready to hand out face masks (and other simple low tech equipment), to try to contain airborne spread, and everyone in the US should be mailed information on what to do in case of a viral threat of this nature- why? Because most people are completely ignorant of the threat and what to do if they face it. WHO has recommended changes in the way humans interact with chickens in farming. We can change that, but money is needed for change.
