But incredibly persistent nonsense around here. I used to occasionally do a tally of local Hitler references in deference to Godwin, see Message 19080083 or Message 20261246 for example. The current search goes back 2 months before hitting the limit, but the limit seems to be 50 instead of 80, so maybe things are better than they used to be,.

Sorry for the misunderstanding GST....my reply was a tounge-in-cheek response to the other poster. I'm in total agreement with you on this point. Equating Hitler to Saddam seems to provide solace to the "neo-con" bretheran.

It seems that blind partizanship can blur the fine line between what one sees as right and wrong. The more extreme the actions of this administration, the more blurred the line becomes. This is the reason we see so much grasping for straws in all these arguments (from both sides I might add). From what I've read here on this forum, I think the term "neo-con" is gradually morphing more towards "neo-machiavellian". Just my two cents FWIW.
