9/11 is unique in that the murders were committed with the cameras rolling, and there were a lot of white victims, but one person's life isn't necessarily worth more than another person's.

"More than half of all murder victims in large cities are young black males - who are killed by other young black males."

ncpa.org

"The number of murders [in America] in 1993 was about 23,000."

Hmmm
it's insensitive to compare? Or you just don't like the way I did it? We have to compare death rates for risks- so why don't you tell me how to "sensitively" compare those death rates, and I'll adopt your sensitive language. Anyone who could be so easily moved to wish a terrorist event happened on our coast, is obviously the kind of person who can really give one important pointers about non-callousness. Looking forward to your exquisite and sensitive language on comparing death rates for various causes.

"Posts like that make me wish 9/11 had happened on your coast in your backyard instead of in NYC. It might give you a better appreciation of how callous your comment is."

ROFL

Way to go Bill

And btw- I don't care if they blow up my kids and my house and me along with it, if I'm still alive, I'm still going to be able to see that something which threatens a million victims is a more important event to plan for than something that threatens a few thousand- even if one of those few thousand is me, or my family. That does not make the few thousand lives any less precious- it's simply about assessing where to put the time and effort. Triage. You've got to do it. You can do it back asswards, or you can focus on the really huge threats. IMO- and I say that as sensitively as I can- hoping that YOU never face a global pandemic flu epidemic. (Why do I not wish you to face a pandemic? Because I think it would be sick to wish that on you, simply because I think the issue is important, and you don't, or don't like the way I discuss it, or whatever.)
