Comparing Hitler and Germany in the late 30s to Saddam and Iraq in the early 2000's is pretty silly. There's been endless fantasizing here about Saddam's alleged dream of a "second caliphate", but by both pre-war and post-war conventional evidentiary standards, he was mostly a broken down old dictator with a decrepit military establishment. It's nice that W's legions of propagandists worked so hard to turn him into something else, but the alleged threat was by that time, by all indications, greatly exaggerated.

The whole Hitler thing is not about Saddam or anyone else. Dig a bit and you'll see that it's the result of a semi-concerted online effort to link W with Adolf. The same kind of propaganda, similar religious stuff, yep, here comes the Waffen SS and the Gestapo, the ovens are getting lit......

Here's an example of the pervasive lunacy of certain members of the left:

Riiiight.

Silly, silly stuff. Political comfort food for the Dems and the Moore-adoring liberals after the electoral trouncing. Certainly a lot easier and more satisfying than thinking coherently about why they lost and how to avoid yet another loss.............
