Alas, the biggest disease, a Scrooge-like ignorance and insensitivity to one's fellow man, is not even seen as a disease by those afflicted by it. Giving the masses food, a clean water supply, birth control and schooling would help. But the religious right doesn't want less souls to send to God. They want bodies now to show their vengence and lots of poor unbelievers to die horrible deaths in Armageddon. Just out of curiosity, how many Swedes or Finns get killed a year by terrorists? The answer would suggest that a big military and an aggressive foreign policy doesn't make one safer.
