No self-respecting nation on earth will agree to be beholden to our foreign policy decisions. Countries cherish their national sovereignty. We are the authors of the foreign policy script that brought us to the sorry state of Iraq today -- we had foreign policy choices and the choices we made were bad choices. That is where we are today. I have no reason to take your bluster seriously. We are in deep shit -- deep shit of our own making. Rumsfeld has been incompetent -- it is true. But the incompetence of his implementation is vastly overshadowed by the incompetence of the policy that set him loose on Iraq.
