Based on the way Rummy handled the post war, I would have been for getting rid of him. But he is the only guy I see that knows what we need to do to reorganize the Military. For that reason, I am glad he is staying.

Maybe I am thick, but Rummy's comment about you go to war with what you have seemed reasonable to me.

The complaints I made about Rummy way back about his attitude and how flip he was are getting some play now. He was the darling then. The reporters liked his attitude because he was different and colorful and the minions liked him because he was plain speaking and had that swagger. The criticism before was mostly from the left but it's broader now. Don't know whether that's because his act is getting stale or whether people just feel like they can be publicly critical of aspects of the war where they couldn't before the election.

What I think is wrong with that comment is the same thing I thought was wrong with his comments all along--awfully flip. That doesn't seem to be going over as well as it once did.
