I know. Pick a famous person in history, try to prove he was homosexual. It's the gay version of "Where's Waldo".

I don't think it's "debunking" to speculate IF Lincoln was gay. Most people wouldn't care, and gay people would like it. I think it's an interesting idea. But then, homosexuality does not bother me in the least.

Same with Jefferson's relationship with Sally Hemmings. It's a fact that he had slaves, something he, himself, believed to be a moral flaw. And it's a fact that Sally Hemmings was the half sister of his beloved deceased wife. And it's a fact that he never remarried after his wife's death. And it's a fact that at least one of Sally Hemmings' many children was fathered by someone who had the same DNA as Jefferson (not necessarily Jefferson, could have been a male relative, but who?). I don't think these facts detract from Jefferson's stature any worse than owing slaves to begin with. But then, interracial sex does not bother me in the least.

BTW, there are more books about Lincoln than any other subject except Christ and Christianity. Or so I've heard.
