WASHINGTON (AFX) -- Federal Reserve policymakers were more upbeat about the economic outlook at their meeting on Nov. 10 than they had been previously, according to a summary of the meeting released Thursday. In their discussion of the outlook, FOMC members "generally expressed assessments" that the forecast of GDP growth in the neighborhood of a 3.3 percent annual rate "appeared to have become even more firmly established over recent months, despite the drag on higher energy prices," the summary said. Members were confident that underlying inflation would remain contained, despite forecasts of increases in near-term headline inflation.
