If Europe gets to play by different rules than we do, look for a real backlash against the trend towards freer trade. We indirectly subsidise the hell out of Boeing. So I don't know which way the WTO will jump. We should take all the regulatons off of business that keeps them from being more competitive, and end the subsidies. I bet if we did, Boeing could eat Airbuse's lunch. They make 767s and 747s with the same efficency that they make military gear. Enormous, unneeded, overhead. Our military industry, because of it's ties to the DOD, is our least competitive industry.
