To me of course it was the hurricanes. I had two really bad scares, got hit by remnants of two, and my family in south Florida got hit by two.

Very intense six weeks.

Peterson, Jackson, Stewart stories pretty much BS; a distraction. None of them, to my knowledge, have even rated a song, like the Ballad of Lizzie Bordon, altho Dr. Demento probably has something.

In addition to the usual suspects like Warren Pease, religiousosity overtaking civic mindedness in politics, and the usual, I'd say...

Return of the King wins umpteen oscars, comes out in extended version, and causes a boost to the economy (of Taiwan) by at least one big screen TV. Real hobbits found on some island somewhere; google it if you want more.

US becomes net food importer. (-:

Cher's "Never Can Say Goodbye" final tour... again.
(I saw her at MCI Center last week. She puts on quite a show and is a lot more accomplished movie-credit-wise than most people realize).
