This is very interesting: We have just been told that the September trade ballance has never been so negative, but the dollar has hadrdly budged. While the massive foreign debt is usually considered the main cause for the weak dollar. Interesting also is that foreign national banks are keep buying US treasuries and so keep financing the deficits of the USA.
I think what is mostly overlooked is the fact that Bush has now been able to demonstrate that despite (or because?) of the massive reduction in taxrates taxincomes have actually increased - contrary to the common saying that "there ore only two ways not to go broke, earn more ore spend less". Fred
