I think it is founded in the sense of the fittingness of things. From that perspective, homosexuality, while not necessarily a sin, is an aberration. The controversial matter, for most people, is how to deal with it as an aberration that seems fundamental to the personality of those who have the disposition. On the one hand, they do not want undue suffering, and therefore accept homosexuals. On the other hand, they do not see it as normal, and would like to discourage it if there are those on the borderline, and "valorize" heterosexuality.
