They have drastically cut the HS requirements in math and language. And in just about everything. The reason? Progressive education, and the fact that the teachers are just as lazy as the rest of us. It's boring to teach it.

The last great collectivist hangover from the past in this country is the the educational establishment. The teaching profession went socialist in the early 19th century, and we have never recovered. We got it out of our economics, but not our of our pedagogy.
