People for the American Way is anything but... unless one holds Cuba near and dear as, "The American Way." I imagine the crowd loved CC's act, but publicly mocks disapproval after the fact, only because they are out of step with the national sentiment.

Even Hollywood liberals were left reeling after Chevy Chase's potty-mouthed Bush-bashing Tuesday night at the Kennedy Center, where the actor hosted an awards ceremony staged by People for the American Way.: Why should anyone from Hollywood reel at any anti-Bush thing that was said by one of their own. Isn't that what they've been doing since day one?
