I accept your general statements about GR as accurate, but GR is not the Detroit area. GR is "bible-belt North", and the protestant work ethic is alive and well. Don't forget Amway!

The Detroit metro area loves the ARM, and we have a couple of the most innovative mortgage brokers in all the land. Rock Financial is not moving a lot of 30 year or 15 year loans, but I think their new "smart arm" where you just pay interest is very popular.

If automotive continues to bleed jobs, housing in Detroit is going to get smashed.
