Heh. I regard the current system as a relic of America's Stalinist era. My preferred solution would be to abolish all redistribution programs such as SS and Medicare, and the taxes that go with them. Failing that, replacing it with a semi-private system would be preferable to the vast Ponzi scheme in place.

And if the public debate over SS privatization breaks into bitter intergeneration warfare, all the merrier.
